The Difference between Meditation and the Akashic Records

Recently I was asked this question:

How does focus in the Akashic Records relate to focus in meditation?

This question speaks directly to how meditation and working in the Akashic Records are either similar or different.

In meditation, focus is wanting to lead you to a place where you let go of the activity of your mind. Meditation is trying to help you calm the frantic parts of your mind and your being, helping you find the peace of balance within you.

Whereas, the point of focus in the Akashic Records is to help you step out of the frenetic part of your mind. But it is not asking you for your awareness to be quiet. Focus in the Akashic Records is to be aware of the energetic activity within the flow of knowing within the Records.

This energetic activity can be transmitted in many ways including sound, sight, feeling, touch, and taste. The focus is bringing you into a pinpoint awareness of the energetic expression of the motion and knowing of the Akashic Records through you. There’s balance and peace there, but it’s not quiet in the same way as focus in meditation.

From a dynamic point of view, meditation helps you step into the quiet of the flow, whereas working the focus in the Akashic Records helps you step into the expression of the flow.

When you step into the Akashic Records, what you’re doing is you’re asking yourself to focus on the flow of knowing as it’s expressed through the peace and balance of sound and light. In contrast, meditation is asking your focus to bring you to a place of peaceful, balanced quiet.

When you’re in the Akashic Records, you may be aware of all the jumpy stuff that’s happening in your own mind, but you’re learning to bring your focus of awareness to the motion of knowing in that moment within peace, within quiet, within balance, but you’re still aware in a way that you’re not when you’re meditating.

I get the benefit of meditation when I’m in my Records, because I’m so there. My focus is clear, strong, and continuous. I can work in my Records and lose sense of time. Meditation is similar where, essentially, you’ve lost awareness of how time is passing.

Working in the Akashic Records is an active form of meditation, yet different. The purpose or mission of the Akashic Records is different. The difference is in the conscious awareness which is present. Over time, my experience in the Records has helped me quiet those frantic parts of my mind.

Is better to meditate or open your Akashic Records? Like so much, this isn’t the question to ask.

Instead, the question to ask: what will serve me in this moment?

Sometimes it will be meditation, other times it is exploring the Akashic Records.

Your truth is your path. And how you get to your truth is your choice.
