What happens if you forget to close your Records?

What happens if you forget to close your Records? The simple answer is nothing; the deeper answer gets into focus and intention.

Question:  What happens if you forget to close your Records?

Cheryl:

Nothing really truly. You’re not gonna get hit by lightning or anything.

What keeps your Records open is your intention. When you’ve turned your attention away from the Records, it pretty much closes it. If you realize you didn’t close, all you have to do is say the closing.

Participant: I like to do it because I can actually feel the energy kind of shut down. Yeah. Like it brings you down to a different level.

Cheryl:

Right. You’re bringing your awareness and attention and everything to the focus of you, here and now.

Though if you forget to close, nothing horrible will happen. Forgetting doesn’t keep you up at night or anything.

I’ve had students who will open the Records and go to bed with hopes that like their dreams and whatever, interact with the Akashic Records, and that doesn’t work that way because you don’t have your conscious attention engaged.

Some report that if they have their Records open for a long time, then they can get tired.

Others report that the first thing they do when they get out of bed in the morning, is they open the Records for whatever might happen during the day. And, again, the issue is that there no focused intention in doing this.

All of this is about you learning how to trust yourself. It’s not about using the Records to live your life. It’s about you go into the Records with intention, ask your questions and close the Records.

I have found that my ability to open the Records with intention has made it easier for me to make decisions for myself outside of the Records.

I’m not going to the Records to ask every question that comes into my brain. Right.

The teacher I learned from said that the other guy that she learned with started, going into the Records and saying, Should I have Fritos or Doritos for dinner? Or is it hamburgers or hot dogs? Every question in his life, he was opening the Records and asking, and they finally sent him away to live his life. Just When you got something serious then come back.

Participant: When we’re doing our work and if I’m going to continue in an hour within my Records, should I close them and then reopen them?

Cheryl:

Yes, it is really better to do that.

Participant: I have found that when I’m in the Records, they give me a lot of background information and advice, but they never take away my free choice. Yes, they will give me a little bit of this and a little bit of that. But it’s still up to me to make the choice. They don’t make the choice for me.

Cheryl:

That’s exactly what my experience as well. Though this is not what a lot of people expect, actually. A lot of people come to the Records wanting to be told exactly what to do and how to do it. Ask a specific question with the expectation of a specific answer.

And that’s what I think is so powerful about this is that this is about you trusting you to be able to make the choices that you need to make for your life.
