Breaking Free from Karma

Karma is not a binding force but a perception shaped by self-belief and societal conditioning. True freedom comes from shifting personal perception, recognizing that self-worth is intrinsic, and stepping into personal power without justification. Releasing the illusion of karmic debt allows for conscious living in the present, where growth and empowerment come from within.

In a recent Akashic Record Insights Workshop, we explored a bit about Karmic ties. Discussion began with this question:

Am I finally free from all of my Karmic lessons?

Cheryl Marlene:

So you’re asking if you’re free of all of that, as in karma or karmic lessons?

Participant: Am I finally breaking free from Karma? From all of those Karmic lessons? Have they situated themselves out, or how can I let go of what I still feel?

Cheryl Marlene:

So do you feel that it’s true that you’re undeserving?

Participant: No, totally not. I know I’m an amazing person. I’m not a nice person, but I’m a good person. I am not nice anymore.

Cheryl Marlene:

Let’s get real on that one. I love that.

Participant: I’m a good person, but I’m not going to be nice to you if you’re going to kick me when I’m down. You know what I mean?

Cheryl Marlene:

Yeah, yeah. No, I get it. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. I think that could be a very large association of people that feel that way. I’m good, but I’m not nice. Forget that, people. Yeah, no.

Okay, so basically, the short answer to your question is yes, you’re beyond all of that karma stuff.

They don’t even think, though, that you were in the middle of it to begin with. Really, this is more about how you shift your perception of yourself, which you expressed in saying, I’m a good person, but I’m not nice.

Meaning, you’re not giving up yourself. You’re not beating yourself over the head because of other people or for other people or whatever, and that’s awesome. It feels like you’ve lost a lot of any energy in there that might’ve pushed you towards that undeserving thing.

It feels like in the last two or three years, you’ve really dropped all of that. There might still be a bit of a habit to it, but they feel like you’re catching yourself pretty well. Maybe you start down that road again, and then you’re like, Oh, wait a minute. No, no, no, no, no. I’m not giving myself up. I’m doing what I want to do. I don’t have to justify myself to anybody. I believe in myself. And so here I am. I’m going to do the best I can.

Does that answer it for you?

Participant: Yeah.

Cheryl Marlene: Yeah. You’re good to go.

Participant: Okay. I’m glad because it just leaves my mother’s side.

Cheryl Marlene:

But the thing is, you’re not bound, right? You’re not bound by that either. They don’t have to all die for you to be free. It’s more about you deciding where you want to be with yourself and for yourself. That’s what this is about.

Participant: Yeah. Well, I’ve been taking some steps forward to reach my goals, and—

Cheryl Marlene:

That’s awesome. So yeah, there may be blocks or obstacles that show up, but they’re really going to be more related to you and what you need to work through.

And really, they don’t— I mean, this is probably true for a whole lot of people at this point— but you’re not somebody who’s actually driven or limited by karma. Karma, in a lot of ways, is an outdated concept of how the world works. It very much came into being through more of a power-over structure.

It became sort of— whatever. Not that they’re saying this is true for you, but karma has particularly become an excuse for how life is. And they don’t see you operating like that anymore. They see you as way more conscious and responsible to yourself.

So you don’t need all of that hubbub.

Participant: I stopped chasing.

Cheryl Marlene:

Yeah, exactly.

And then the energy shifts from you trying to run after and catch it, to you just knowing that everything you need moves toward you quickly and easily.

In that, you don’t have karma. You are taking hold of your life right now, here in this minute, and saying, I’m going to live for myself, with myself, however I feel truthful for me in this moment.

Who cares about past lives? Who cares about future lives? Who cares about parallel lives?

Because your awareness is here, in this moment, which actually then has the effect of expanding your connections— the awareness of your connections— across multiple dimensions.

In a certain sense, this has an unintended effect. A whole lot of folks believe they will achieve this if they take care of all their so-called karma ties and contracts and what have you.

But we’re moving into a new way of understanding our lives. That means a whole lot of the things we’ve used up until now to try to give structure and meaning to life just don’t work the way they used to.

And that’s also because more and more, we’re choosing power within— and that makes all the difference.
