What are the positive motions that might lie ahead of us in 2025?
For many people right now, it may not feel like there’s much to be optimistic about.
However, there’s actually quite a bit.
Some tension has been released, moving us in a new direction.
This began about five to ten years ago.
We spent that time laying a foundation and preparing for the journey. Now the journey has begun.
This is the year when many of us reap the fruits of our labor.
There will be bumps along the way—moments when it feels like things aren’t going so well.
Yet overall, we’re moving into a new turn of the spiral.
We’re turning to a new level of this spiral, which gives us the chance to consider possibilities we’ve never contemplated before.
This is the year to challenge yourself to go further than you think you can.
Another way to see it: we’ve been learning to swim in deep waters and now we’re comfortable with that process.
We’re recognizing that there isn’t a shark waiting to bite our feet.
So this is the year to build a skyscraper and say, “I can get to the top of that. I can do this. I can do that.”
Part of how we do that is by not getting caught up in fear or in a “woe is me” energy. It’s about directing ourselves toward the spiral’s curve.
Life is like a spiral path.
You loop back to where you started, but at a higher level. Something might feel familiar, yet it’s different because of all the experience you’ve gained.
The Up Choice: Rising Beyond Fear into the Unknown
There comes a point when you don’t realize you’re on a spiral, so you try to see the path as straight.
By believing it’s straight, you miss the curve.
You may find yourself at a dead end and need to back up to make the turn.
What keeps you on the spiral’s curve is what I call the “up choice.”
At a crossroads, we often think we can only go right, left, or straight.
The up choice is the unexpected direction, the unknown.
That’s where opportunity lies. It’s where you meet and take on the challenge.
This mirrors the idea of a road less traveled.
Let go of the assumption that the path is straight.
Let go of the idea that you’re going exactly where you expect.
Instead, follow the curve’s call.
This approach changes how you experience your journey.
You stop chasing and start letting the energy come to you.
You feel the calling rise within, sense its rightness, and lean into it.
By definition, you can’t see exactly what’s ahead on a spiral path.
The joy comes in trusting yourself, even if you’re not one hundred percent sure.
In 2025, the real joy emerges in embracing the unknown.
It’s about seeing your path as one that spirals into uncharted territory and walking into the challenge with faith.
