Expand Your Practice #4

Expand Your Practice #4: add ritual to your Akashic Records Practice with an affirmation, a mindful moment and questions to ask your Records.

Affirmation:

As I breathe deeply, I feel the depth of my connection with all life.

Mindful Moment:

I love the smell of burning sage and from the very beginning of my Akashic Records experience, I often burn sage just before opening. One day I asked if the sage had any effect on my Akashic Records experience. I was told did and the effects were different for each person.

At the same time, I was also reminded whatever I might choose to do either before opening and after closing, I should not become dependent. It bears repeating: while ritual can be comforting, in the Akashic Records it must not become necessary. You want to feel comfortable and confident and able to open and connect with the Akashic Records even under adverse circumstances.

Feeling like you can only open if you have certain incense or certain stone, creates severe limitations. Thus, what I’m suggesting here in these questions should be as supportive additions but not necessity.

For me sage is culinary sage (salvia officinalis). Most sage bundles are white sage (salvia apiana).

Fragrance and aroma hold powerful, evocative energies which have many effects on body, mind, heart, and soul. The smell of Grandmother’s oatmeal cookies, the roses in Mom’s garden, the smell of the forest after a rain – all of these and more trigger a response with just a thought. Smell in the environment triggers much, both positive and negative. Within the practice of the Akashic Records, fragrance has the power to uplift, clear, and focus.

Again, this is not an issue where all expressions fit everyone. What works for you is personal to you. Even why it works will be different from person to person. Just as with gemstones, you can inquire into beneficial aromas which offer therapeutic support during opening of the Akashic Records. Working with the following, you may add another chapter to your dictionary on aroma, fragrance, and smell.

When it comes to aromas, you may either work with oils or burnable material such as leaves or stems. The oils can be smelled, applied to the skin, or added to a water diffuser or spray bottle with water.

As with the gemstones, I am going to suggest you begin with several aromas which I have found particularly helpful. Then you can investigate possibilities on your own.
