Expand Your Practice #6: add ritual to your Akashic Records Practice with an affirmation, a mindful moment and questions to ask your Records.
Affirmation:
I find joy in moving beyond limitation and outdated belief.
Mindful Moment:
One of my favorite hikes takes me to the top of a mountain on the Oregon Coast. A rocky outcropping crowns the top and provides a beautiful view of a long flat beach to the south. This spot is also one of my favorite places to open the Akashic Records. The air is fresh, filled with the salt and motion of the Pacific Ocean. A breeze relieves the heat of a sunny summer day. So many edges – the top of the mountain with the sky, the mountain with the ocean, the beach sand and the water. This edge provides a perfect spot to explore my edges within the Akashic Records.
When I first learned to open the Akashic Records, I lived on an island connected by a bridge to the mainland. My home was located on five forested acres, two blocks from the beach either to the east or the west. I found quickly that opening the Akashic Records while sitting outside is a profound joy, a peaceful connected alignment.
I take every opportunity to ask the natural world for support wherever I work with the Akashic Records. Whether it is in the form of gemstone and aroma, or whether it’s finding a quiet spot outside, I have found seeking this type of solace and support expands my capacity within the Akashic Records and keeps me from becoming complacent in my practice.
Please go outside when you can or find a window with a view of the world outside. Take a moment to find a place of peace and natural connection.
As I have already mentioned, habit within your Akashic Records is not a problem as long as the habit doesn’t become limitation.
Mix it up! Try different locations to open. Try different pens. Shift your aromas. Test different gemstones.
Most importantly, as much as the circumstances of your life allow, open your Akashic Records outside. A park bench. A boulder beside a river. The grass in your backyard. Under a tree in a forest.
Take your journal and pen. Remember your blessing. Sit. Breathe. Connect.
Draw in the peace and beauty around you.
Outside can also mean outside of your typical location inside. Maybe a café, a concert, or an art gallery.
Your willingness to mix it up will, in part, be why you don’t create limitation and why you’ll step beyond the obstacles of rigid habit.
Moving beyond serves to show you new vistas and new challenges. Moving beyond expands your experience and moves you down your deep road.
Mix it up, go beyond, find new valleys, climb new mountains.
Very simply, expand your practice!
